Players/Parents, I'm excited to inform you about a preseason mini-camp opportunity for our team. On February 14 and 15 (the weekend following our first week of practice/try-outs), our team will take part in a mini-camp at our fields here, and will feature Davis Draper as trainer. Please see Davis' impressive soccer bio at the end of this message. The weekend will focus on technical and tactical topics, and posession soccer (which will be our team philosophy this year) will be introduced and emphasized. This camp will be a great way to jumpstart our season. We'll do two 3 hour sessions on Saturday and one 3 hour session on Sunday afternoon:1st Session: Saturday 9am-12pm Lunch Break from 12-2pm 2nd Session: Saturday 2-5pm 3rd Session: Sunday 1-4pm The cost will be $30 per player. Please let me know as soon as possible if you WON'T be attending, or if money will be a problem. Thanks, The Draper Files:Davis Draper trained at Vogelsinger Soccer Academy in Santa Barbara, CA and played in the Tennessee Olympic Development Program during his formative years. While in college, Davis coached the club team Cookeville Chippewas, winning the state championship in 2006. Five of his former players either play soccer in college or semi-professionally. Currently, Davis trains 14 players from around the Cookeville area, one of which plays for the University of Tennessee women's team. His methodology in training places an emphasis on the technical side of the game. He then takes the technical to practical to tactical in combining all these aspects to teach possession style of play, which is the winning edge. |
